Today, we are very proud.
Last night’s 85th annual Oscar extravaganza was quite special – not only did we have the opportunity to drink lots of Austrian wine, but we did so as we watched Austrian-born actor, Christoph Waltz, and director Michael Haneke be honored for their hard work.
Waltz was awarded the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor and Haneke the award for Best Foreign Film. Having both already won Golden Globes this year, it is quite the year for these two!
Waltz’s performance in Django Unchained as the German bounty hunter, Dr. King Schultz, earned him his second Oscar, Best Supporting Actor, the first won for his performance in Inglorious Bastards.
Haneke was awarded his first Oscar for his film, Amour, which depicts the harsher side of aging. The film was nominated for five different Oscars and prevailed in the Best Foreign Film category.
