August started with a bang… and although it’s not almost over, we’re still thinking about it!

The 6th of August was otherwise known as Austrian Riesling Day at Terroir Murray Hill, one of the flagship bars for the Summer of Riesling festival. The restaurant invited patrons, both trade and consumer, to come experience discounted sips on top bottles throughout the night from the Kamptal’s Heilingenstein and beyond, as well as specialty bottles opened throughout the night from the Wachau. A special bottle was opened up every hour, on the hour, and those left to experience the event just through excessive Instagram postings were surely sad they didn’t make the trek.

Austrian ladies in dirndls (traditional wear) swirled around the wine bar as if it were normal play – rumor has it that Paul Grieco, Overlord of Riesling, rocked his leiderhosen that night, too…our kind of party!

Still thirsty? Check out what was poured. (WARNING: You’re going to be insanely jealous.)
