39,000 travel agents select Austria as the most attractive wine travel destination in Europe

The jury, made up of 39,000 travel agents, evaluated tour organisers and travel bureaus, as well as destinations, tourism products and tourism organisations. In the category
Best Wine Travel Destination Europe, Austria took the prize, even competing with world famous wine regions such as Bordeaux and Tuscany. The yearlong collaboration of Advertising Austria (ÖW) New York with the Austrian Wine Marketing Board (ÖWM) and their strong focus on wine and the culinary arts in market cultivation was recognised with the reception of this award. Well-pleased at receiving the international accolade, Austrian Wine Marketing Board general director Willi Klinger tells us: This important wine-tourism honour is our reward for the marketing activities that we pursued together with Advertising Austria, with the goal of establishing Austria as one of the most attractive wine tourism destinations in the world.

Advertising Austria can be proud of two further triumphs, in the categories Best Luxury Travel Destination Europe and Most Innovative Tourism Executive Europe, bestowed in recognition of the innovative work of the ÖW team in the USA.
